THE LEADER'S WELCOME

Dear Friends,

I'm glad to greet you on behalf of Samara Regional Democratic Movement “Progressive Youth Union”. We understand our main goal as the work towards formation of active civil society and democratisation of Russia, and the promotion of youth interests. The Union appeared in 2003 as a free association of Russian young citizens (mostly aged 18-25) with civic activism, social and political concerns. I dare say we unite many bright and talented Russian people who share the values of freedom and democracy and who want to live in a country of opportunity and prosperity. We try to make our ideals closer to life in our everyday activity: while studying, working and being socially and politically active. We really want to make our country closer to the world civilization of free and democratic countries; we try to make young and active people with leadership skills more and more interested in social and political life of our country, to make them feel citizens who are the leading part of the society. Since its origination, the Union has already established itself as an efficient, constructive and consistent organisation. We are quite experienced in successful partnership with government authorities, non-governmental organisations and the media. We do believe that one day Russia will join the family of truly free and democratic states for peace and stable development of the world we all share. And we believe that what we do is very important because we feel responsibility for the country we live in.
